WIC Stimulus Deadline: Last days to file for Child Tax Credit on GetCTC online tool – Marca English

Time is running out to apply
The amount of time remaining for residents to use the government’s online tool to file for the 2021 expanded Child Tax Credit is running out.
On November 15, the non-filer sign-up tool GetCTC is going to be disabled by the US government and will no longer be in use.
Before that day though, families can still use the tool to apply for tax credit. Parents are able to receive 3,000 dollars per child for households with children aged 6 to 17 and 3,600 dollars for children that are five and under.
The Child Tax Credit was originally expanded as part of the 1.9 trillion dollar American Rescue Plan Act that was created by president Joe Biden.
The previous amount of money that parents could receive was 2,000 dollars, so a drastic increase was made to try and help tackle the rising cost of living for normal families.
In order to encourage more parents to file for the tax credit and make it easier, the online and mobile tool was created by Code for America in partnership with the White House and the US Treasury. It functions in both English and Spanish.
The tool gives families a fast and easy way to claim the Child Tax Credit, which can be done in 15 minutes online. The tool can also be used to file for any missing stimulus payments.
A crucial factor in why people should apply before the November 15 deadline is that claiming this Child Tax Credit does not affect eligibility for other federal benefits such as SNAP or WIC.
Therefore, this is a very worthwhile benefit that will help families all across the United States of America, but the easy online tool for claiming it will only be live for a few more hours.
